Souly Had is a singer/songwriter/producer from Duanesburg, NY (just outside Albany, NY). As a member of the hip-hop collective Entreband, a crew of self-starting, like-minded artists and creatives, he has developed a pop/R&B sound all his own. It's a far cry from when he was making the rounds at local rap shows at age 16. As a digital imaging student at Community College, he would "go on YouTube and try to find dope music," he told Times Union, his hometown newspaper last summer. Before long, he was making beats on his iPhone and eventually through Beat Pad. As he began working with Entreband, his cohorts Tom C Bumpz, MostlyEverything, mac moon, and local platinum-selling producer Purpdogg, Souly Had combined rapping with more R&B-styled singing, experimenting with melodies and arrangements. The positive comments he received on his Soundcloud account convinced him that he was heading in the right direction.
