LOS ANGELES (Luck Media & Marketing/ www.thecringeband.com) - New York City-based alt rock band The Cringe (www.thecringeband.com), which has been heating up the
Radio & Records charts with their first single "Burn," has announced a residency at Arlene's Grocery every Monday in the month of June beginning on Monday, June 6th.
The band will open up the festivities of Arlene's Grocery's No Cover Mondays at 8:30 PM that will also feature Rock and Roll Karaoke at 11:00 PM. A residency at Arlene's is a rite of passage that has helped many bands break out into the big time . . . one of the more recent residencies at Arlene's was that of NYC's The Bravery, who went on to become Alt Rock's next big thing.
The Cringe has performed with the likes of Joss Stone and The Doors of the 21st Century and are regulars on the downtown NYC club circuit, including legendary CBGB's, considered to be the birth place of punk rock three decades ago (The Ramones, Television, Talking Heads, Blondie and the Police, among others, all launched their careers there). The Cringe also has songs featured on several MTV specials including "Lindsay Lohan's Celebrity Spring Break Style."
"Burn," the first single from The Cringe's album "Scratch the Surface," has climbed up to No 39 on Radio & Records top 50 CHR/POP Indicator Chart. "Scratch The Surface" is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2005.
The Cringe will soon be announcing dates of their upcoming mini-tour of the Southwest U.S.
