LOS ANGELES (Solid State Records) - After building a rabid fan base as well as critical acclaim in the U.S. and abroad, UNDEROATH-who blend punk and metal with soaring experimental melodies, electronic textures and heartfelt lyricism-are set to kick off a U.K. trek as their current THEY'RE ONLY CHASING SAFETY album has now sold over 180,000 copies. After wrapping a spring headlining U.S. tour, UNDEROATH shot a video for their second single "It's A Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" in Hollywood with director Josh Graham (Neurosis' A Sun That Never Sets [DVD], Dillinger Escape Plan's "Unretrofied"). The performance-based video features the group rocking out in a surreal winter forest after a car crash. After the U.K. leg, which includes a stop at the Download Festival June 10 in Donington Park, the Tampa, FL-based six-piece-SPENCER CHAMBERLAIN (vocals), TIM McTAGUE (guitar), GRANT BRANDELL (bass), AARON GILLESPIE (drums/vocals), CHRISTOPHER DUDLEY (keyboards) and JAMES SMITH (guitar)-will return to the Vans Warped Tour this summer, meanwhile compiling footage for a DVD (release TBA). UNDEROATH will then head to Canada for a tour with The Used throughout September before returning to the U.S. for a major North American trek throughout the Fall. THEY'RE ONLY CHASING SAFETY is the follow-up to UNDEROATH's 2002 release The Changing Of Times (Solid State Records), which went on to become the indie label's top-seller with sales of over 70,000 of copies. Produced by James Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever), the album-on which UNDEROATH's infectious choruses raise metal-emo-core to the next level-debuted at No 2 on Billboard magazine's Heatseekers chart.
