New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Powerhouse singer Rachel Lorin today releases her brand new single "
Kerosene". The song exclusively premiered on V13 with an essay written by Rachel, detailing the meaning behind the song.
She wrote: For everyone who knows me well, they know my first relationship was not an easy one. Of all the first loves I could've had… I ended up with the most challenging and toxic relationship ever. Every bit of lie or betrayal that could've happened, happened. So much of my record coming up is about the heartbreak I went through with my ex."
V13 says, "As far as musicians and recording artists go, you won't find many more prolific and hard-working than Rachel Lorin...She finds motivation in approaching [topics] with a dark sense of humour that adds some lightness to the otherwise serious nature of these topics. What brings it all together is a fearlessness that is very evident in her music."
Rachel's powerful vocals emphasize the heartbreaking message of the song about a relationship that has fallen apart, forcing Rachel to "burn it down." "
Kerosene" starts quietly but builds towards a climax that keeps the energy up until the last note.
With the release of her 2019 single "Gold" Rachel told Celeb Mix, "'Gold,' along with the rest of the new record coming out, is extremely different than anything I've ever done. I've dabbled in almost every genre from pop to rock to broadway to EDM, but this new sound is by far my favorite." "
Kerosene", with its heavy bass, strong vocals, and catchy melody, acts as another step towards Rachel's journey for a new sound.
Having started her music career on BET's reality show, The Next Big Thing, Rachel has since been featured in publications like Pancakes and Whiskey who stated, "Rachel's voice soars above and around." Rachel has shared the stage with artists such as
Evanescence and Of Mice and Men, as well as touring across the country.

About Rachel Lorin
Rachel Lorin believes in finding beauty in the unbeautiful, an incessant search that began with her roots in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in the South and shaped by New York City, she has a wide, diverse history in music, and at only 23, the singer/songwriter already has a storied career.
From beginning modeling at 9 to singing the
National Anthem at the US Open at 12 and then eventually launching her musical career on the reality TV series "Next Big Thing," her experiences over the past decade have finally helped her find her artistic footing—she's a rock girl in a pop world.
Rachel is dauntlessly authentic, now shedding her roots beyond teenage pop star into embracing the beauty and torment that is hidden behind glamour. This sensibility is what separates Rachel from her musical contemporaries. Her music is concerned with issues that young people face every day, and she finds power in tackling these problems with sharp writing that drips with her dark sense of humor.
Following a 2019 tour with full band support, Rachel has new music on the horizon. She is gearing up to take on the world with her unique storm of biting realism and a darkly poetic vision. Lorin is an artist brimming with ideas and enthusiasm, constantly digging for elegance at its most obscure sources. At her core, Rachel is swirling with tenacity and searing bravado, and she's unafraid to bare it all in her music and its delivery on the stage.
