New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, multi-platinum Belgian singer and songwriter Selah Sue returns from a five-year hiatus with the release of her Bedroom EP (Because Music). Composed in the euphoric afterglow following the birth of her first child, these songs now have been reworked, transformed, and properly recorded by Selah Sue - in her first-ever role as producer - with the help of acclaimed English producer Kwes (Solange, Kelela). The result is a lush, symphonic bedroom R&B sound centered on Selah's impeccable voice that captures the completely subsuming love and devotion of young motherhood.

The Bedroom EP is a stylistic departure for Selah Sue that succeeds on the back of its openness and vulnerability. Whether she's reaffirming her dedication to her two children on EP opener "You" or reflects on aging by asking her partner "When my mind is lost, will you stand by me every night and day?" on the melancholic "Always," Selah Sue reveals an emotional maturity and narrative generosity that pairs beautifully with the adventurous production.

Throughout lockdown, Sue's Lullaby Sessions on Facebook have been a source of comfort for fans, and she played stripped-down versions of her songs weekly to connect with her fans. Her father is currently fighting COVID-19, so she knows the seriousness of the pandemic and how, in its own way, music can help heal and process intense emotion. Following her 2015 release Reason, Selah Sue was named Best Female Artist at the Music Industry Awards, and collaborated with J. Cole, DJ Fresh, Diplo, Childish Gambino, Ludwig Göransoon, Robin Hannibal, Hudson Mohawke, and more. Bedroom marks the return of a star and a signal of more things to come, including a new LP. Stay tuned.
