Multi-Grammy Considered, Award-Winning Sharon Lia To Debut Powerful, Inspirational Song Amid Covid-19 Pandemic
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The music world is highly anticipating The Sharon Lia Band's brand new track, "The Sum of Us." The multi GRAMMY considered original artist out of Philadelphia will debut this powerful, single release Friday, May 29th, on https://www.sharonliaband.com as well as all digital platforms across the board, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, iHeart, and many more.

Lead singer, and the band's namesake, Sharon Lia, described the song as one about resilience and unity, adding that "It is an anthem of victory." This song has all the trappings of a modern day "We Are The World."

"It is about the conflict within ourselves, the tragedy of giving up, the victory of rising when we fall, the symphony of realizing our potential, and the philosophy that every single one of us contributes to the sum of us all," Lia explained.

The inspiration to create the song, Lia recalled, was during a critical journey of healing and watching loved ones losing their will to fight.

"The message I hope to impart," Lia said, "is for us to realize our potential no matter what the darkness, whether it be mental, physical, financial, or spiritual, tries to extinguish in us, and give that light to others."

"We started recording in 2019. During the final phase of production, the COVID-19 pandemic hit," she said. "The ultimate symbolism unfolded. As the band and our guest vocalists hunkered down in our homes, we had to find creative ways to record and refine their vocals and get footage for our music video. We did it, though. The video may not have all the trappings of a Hollywood movie, but it has a Hollywood ending, full of love and feel good vibes. This effort is the quintessential example of "The Sum of Us."

The piano-driven, female-fronted rock/alternative rock/progressive pop band, which draws upon influences ranging from Florence and the Machine to Muse and Coldplay, started off playing the Philadelphia area and has performed at venues and festivals from New York to California. With Sharon's powerhouse, octave-leaping vocals, textured piano melodies, and sometimes tender, sometimes gripping songwriting, Lia and the band captivate audiences during every show.

As the band's success started soaring, Lia founded her charitable foundation, Ladies Who Rock 4 A Cause, a music-driven organization inspired by her battle with cancer. "I was overwhelmed by the radiation process, the big machines, and the coffee table war stories book about breast cancer."

Lia said, "It has always been in my heart to help others. We hold events helping individuals in need and donate to charities. We've had many different bands perform, lots of volunteers, a great team, and so much goodwill. It's incredible."
A pre-release of the song is available now. Customers can "Name Your Own Price" - for the single with a portion of the proceeds going to The Ladies Who Rock 4 A Cause for more.
