Casino Gambling: Thrill Or Addiction?
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Depending on whom you talk to these days casino gambling can be one of two things: either a thrill to be celebrated, or an addiction to be scorned. Of course, it actually really isn't anywhere near as simple as this, because the act of gambling can often have various consequences, of both a positive and negative nature.

On the one hand the very act of gambling can be an incredible thrill, especially if it is done in such cultural centres such as Las Vegas, for example. And do not even get us started on how thrilling it can be to be on the receiving end of a lottery either. However, left unchecked this thrill can quickly develop into an addiction, and it is very important to know where to draw the line. So, is casino gambling a thrill or addiction? Let's take a look at some arguments from both sides.

Thrill: A holiday to Las Vegas

For many people their annual gambling holiday to Las Vegas is something that they look forward to near enough constantly, and it resembles a massive thrill for many people that rarely get to gamble in the hugely impressive establishments that can be found in the Nevada desert city.

In this case casino gambling is undeniably a thrill, as it is an experience that can very rarely be felt anywhere else. And anyway, just consider the ludicrous extent of Las Vegas casinos in the 21st century - they can have anything from massive sports arenas to zoos inside! Plenty of things to keep you from gambling all the time, a sign that they are definitely more of a thrill than a site of addiction.

Addiction: Just one more spin

We said before how a Las Vegas gambling holiday doesn't exactly constitute an addiction, however what if you are quite literally unable to get off the slot machines in your last few days of holiday? Well, that could end up being a completely different story entirely. If you are so obsessed with the slots that you physically cannot stop yourself than it seems as though your casino gambling experience could be swinging towards an addiction.

This is an aspect of casino gambling that is getting more and more dangerous as new technology allows us to play ever sophisticated gambling games from the comfort of our own homes. If you are struggling to stop spinning the reels of your favourite UK online slots it is really time to consider your position.

Thrill: A jackpot of dreams

Nobody can argue against the thrill of securing your first proper jackpot - it is difficult to put into words how truly exciting this can be! There have been many gamblers over the years who have had their lives completely turned upside down by a big win, and you won't be able to find any of them that wouldn't refer to the experience as a thrill.

Addiction: Borrowing money off friends to keep gambling

If you have spent all of your money on gambling and are now borrowing money off of friends to keep up the habit it is time to get real: you have an addiction.
