New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Farnborough, UK post-hardcore newcomers MANDOWN are pleased to reveal a suitably gory video for their new single 'We Want Blood', directed by cult alt rock icon Jamie Lenman.
The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming debut EP of the same name, which is set for release on 9th July 2020 via all good digital service providers.

Commenting on the track, guitarist Iain Turner says: "With writing We Want Blood, I thought of the first two lines of the verse and worked the music around it, a bit of a reversal of my usual song writing. The song lyrically isn't aimed at any one person or organisation—I think sometimes it's best to take your own interpretation on things and decide what it means to you."

The song is the follow-up release to lead single 'Try or Die', which was released earlier this year to a rush of support from key alternative press including UPSET, DORK, VISIONS, Independent Music News, The Punk Site, Alt Corner, Bring The Noise UK, Into The Pit and more.

Produced by Chris Coulter (IDLES, Arcane Roots, Jamie Lenman, Sun Arcana, EMP!RE) at Decimal Studios, with additional production, video direction, and design by alternative-rock cult icon Jamie Lenman, the forthcoming EP is a short, sharp punch of songs that boldly announces the band's arrival.

"Jamie has written some of my favourite ever music," enthuses Turner of working with Lenman, "so it was a great experience to work with him—the same with Chris. We had great experiences recording with him both times. I personally learned a lot during the pre-production and recording stages, about structuring songs and phrasing lyrics. It's been really helpful moving forward with my songwriting."

The pair will be revealing more music and hope to announce live shows in the near future, pending developments in the live sector relating to coronavirus.

ManDown's debut EP We Want Blood is released 9th July 2020

We Want Blood EP tracklist:

1.Try or Die
2. Tick Tock
3. Kiss
4. We Want Blood

Composed of guitarist/vocalist Iain Turner and drummer Lawrence Arnold, the two musicians at the heart of Mandown have been tight friends since childhood.

Influenced by the sound and attitude of bands like Rage Against the Machine, We Are 68, Black Peaks, The Prodigy, and Hundred Reasons, with the guidance and involvement of Lenman during the recording process, the pair's songs already succinct songs became even shorter—one of the ingredients that makes We Want Blood such a ripping release, at just 11 minutes 20 seconds across 4 tracks.

Previously playing together in stoner blues band Welcome the Howling Tones, also featuring Paul Townsend of UK post-hardcore heroes Hundred Reasons, the duo have miles of touring experience already under their belts on shows alongside Godsized, The Jamie Lenman Band, Nick Oliveri, The Icarus Line, Breed77 and more.
