NEW YORK (Flawless Media/ 7 Grand Records) - Guru is releasing Guru Version 7.0 The Street Scriptures June 21st. The release will come out on his own label 7 Grand Records that he started with producer and business partner Solar. Solar also exclusively produced all songs on the album as well.

Guru's solo project is a stunning success that evokes an array of thoughts and emotions. It's a true Hip-Hop album and Guru & Solar's appreciation for the culture and the art form shines through on each track. Guests including Doo Wop, Jaguar Wright, Jean Grae, Styles P, B Real and Talib Kweli all make appearances on Street Scriptures. The first single, 'Step In The Arena Pt. 2' featuring mixtape king Doo Wop is hip-hop at its best with Guru once again displaying his skills on the mic and riding the track with his trademark voice.

Guru first rose to prominence as the lyrical half of Gang Starr, one of the first groups to incorporate jazz with hip-hop. After three albums, Guru launched what would be the beginning of a major solo career with Jazzmatazz Vol. 1. Guru has had the chance to collaborate with some of music's greats over the years including Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, N'Dea Davenport, Branford Marsalis, Chaka Khan, Isaac Hayes and many more. Guru's journey in the music industry is one long ride that won't be forgotten. He has become a true legend and has one of the most distinguishable rhyming voices out.

After more than 10 years and 10 albums in the music industry Guru has been able to stay relevant in the changing climate of today's music. When asked how he has maintained his relevancy, Guru said, 'Be honest with yourself, be original, be open to criticism, and be careful not to surround yourself with 'yes' men.' So prepare yourself for a lyrical voyage with Guru Version 7.0 The Street Scriptures.
