SYDNEY, Australia (SONY BMG Australia) -
Jamiroquai will play their first London show for three years with a headline slot at the B-Live Festival on July 3, and it's set to be D-Y-N-A-M-I-T-E! With a high-octane, super-charged new album out,
Jamiroquai are sure to be sizzling on stage.
Held on the grassy knolls of Clapham Common, the three-day long B-Live Festival will see Jay Kay and his cohorts bring their latest sounds to the London massive for the first time in three years.
"I love to do things outside in London, it's a great feeling," says Jay Kay. "We did a gig in Finsbury Park years ago and there were loads of people there and they all had a great time, having a drink, listening to music having really good fun. If the sun is shining in London, there is hardly a better town in the world."
This week sees the release of Jamiroquai's long-awaited sixth studio album, the fabulously funky 'Dynamite'. Featuring the hit single 'Feels Just Like It Should', it's been more than worth the four-year wait since 2001's brilliant 'A Funk Odyssey'.
Written and recorded over two years in Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Scotland, New York, Los Angeles and his own purpose built Buckinghamshire studio, 'Dynamite' is both a consolidation of 13 years of Jamiroquai's trademarked sci-fi sound and a cocky, two fingers to anyone who thinks that at 35, Kay might be resting on his country pile.
"You've always got something to prove in this game," Jay says. "But the bottom line is I still love it. I love the thrill of seeing a track come together, and with this album we've been sitting with tracks, meticulously going through them, changing things, getting it right."
And get it right they did -'Dynamite' leaves little doubt that Jamiroquai are back with a vengeance, ready to rock your funk and funk your rock, and don't you forget it!
