New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, the GRAMMY Award-winning duo Brasstracks (multi-instrumentalist Ivan Jackson and percussionist Conor Rayne) announce their debut album - Golden Ticket - out August 21st via EQT and Capitol Records. The record reinforces the duo's free-thinking approach to songcraft and embraces an unprecedented charm. An eclectic mix of collaborators feature on almost every track - including modern rap and R&B titans such as Common, Masego, Grammy nominated Tank of Tank & The Bangas, Robert Glasper and more.

Today, Brasstracks share another new song from Golden Ticket: "Hold Ya," featuring Lawrence. It's a glossy balm in the summer heat and a soulful introduction to the groovy world of Brasstracks. The visual to accompany the track is a perfect depiction of the world in quarantine with a fun and funky twist. Filmed in their separate spaces, Rayne, Jackson, Clyde Lawrence and Gracie Lawrence dance to the energetic beat in a kaleidoscope of colorful hues.

Here's Jackson and Rayne on the new track:
"In New Orleans at 3 AM, I listened to Lawrence's album Living Room all the way through," Jackson says. "I was such a fan, I wrote them a long email freaking out about them. We were able to do a few sessions, and we wrote 'Hold Ya' during our last session while we were goofing around. It was originally a guitar-and-drum demo, but after we played it for Lawrence, we were off to the races that night, working on the song until 4 in the morning. All the vocals you hear are from that night in our basement bedroom. Sorry neighbors!"

"'Hold Ya' started out as a bare-bones duo jam just between guitarist Randy Runyon and me, which was an inspiring way to start a song," Rayne says. "It was just two people. Lawrence then got on track and really developed the track. We laid down more instruments, and the song really grew into something special. It came to life."

Continuing the duo's ongoing tribute to the era of A-B cassettes, Brasstracks will soon release "Hold Ya"'s B-side, "Will Call (ft. Elliott Skinner & Victoria Canal)." The duo's recent singles will also appear on Golden Ticket, including the A-side "Change For Me"("A sneaky earworm" - AV Club) and its B-side "Missed Your Call" ("It'll still put a smile on your face no matter what" - Complex).
