Lianne La Havas Performs KCRW "In Residence" Session
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lianne La Havas recorded a special acoustic set from London featuring songs from her new, self-titled album for a KCRW In Residence session that aired this morning. She performed "Courage" and what KCRW calls a "jaw-dropping cover of Radiohead's 'Weird Fishes'" from the new album as well as "Au Cinema," from her 2012 debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?. "Lianne La Havas is really something special," says KCRW's Anne Litt. "Her new album ... is stunning." You can hear the complete session below, and read an interview with La Havas at kcrw.org.

"At a time when so much pop speaks of constriction ... La Havas is determinedly expansive, and anything but mechanical. She makes her trickiest musical stratagems sound effortless, even playful," Jon Pareles writes in the New York Times review of the album. "The songs illuminate passion, impulsiveness, ambivalence and uncertainty, yet the structures La Havas created are lucid and poised. While matters of the heart may be out of control, her fingers and voice are impeccable."
