Visceral Heartbreak-Meets-Dark Pop On Newcomer Eloise Alterman's 'The Other Side' EP Due August 28
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New song "Fear of Moving On" is available everywhere now, here: fanlink.to/FearofMovingOn
Today, Friday, Aug. 7, rising female songwriter and artist Eloise Alterman announces her debut music 'The Other Side' EP due Aug. 28 via Big Yellow Dog Music label. Her latest single "Fear of Moving On" is available everywhere now.

"Fear of Moving On feels like the end of summer to me," says Alterman of the new single. "There's something bright and nostalgic about it. I think it shows another side of my heart that I don't typically acknowledge."

New to Nashville by way of Detroit, Alterman's music draws on the dark-pop beats and whispy vocal influences of Maggie Rogers, the authentic lyricism of artists from Joni Mitchell to Ruston Kelley, catchy melodies of Harry Styles and more.

On 'The Other Side,' Alterman wrestles internally with the ups and downs of a relationship across five dark pop, beat-driven tracks. "Fear of Moving On" and "The Truth" cling to a blind optimism that a false love is better than none at all, while the stormy piano ballad "What I Thought It Was" deals with the pain of being cheated on. "The Other Side" narrates a West Side Story romance of lovers keeping their discrepancy on opposites sides of town and "Nostalgia" shows how we as humans can be prisoners to our own memories if we don't move on.

Alterman's previously released "What I Thought It Was" (7.10) was featured by MTV Live & Spankin' New and can be found on several playlists including Spotify's New Music Friday, Apple Music's Heartbreak Pop and more. Listen here: youtu.be/WjcQCxYO_6c

"Releasing music for the first time during a global pandemic was such a scary thought," says Alterman. "At the same time, I see it as a blessing, because I had so much time to dream up concepts and visual ideas for this EP and put in the time it deserved. Every song on The Other Side EP holds a special place in my heart. I'm so excited to share it with others."

'The Other Side' tracklist:
1. Fear of Moving On (Eloise Alterman, Jeremy Lister, Emery Dobyns)
2. What I Thought It Was (Alterman, Daniel Agee)
3. The Truth (Alterman, Agee, Emily Falvey)
4. The Other Side (Alterman, Robyn Dell'Unto)
5. Nostalgia (Alterman, Agee)
