Alicia Keys fans rejoice - the talented 24-year-old is about to record an unplugged album that will include some brand new songs. Alright! The incredible Ms Keys will then record her third studio album and also has future plans for a book and a film.
Having recently picked up a BET Award for Best Female R&B Artist and following a long stint of touring, piano playing superstar
Alicia Keys is back home in New York writing some new material to appear on an upcoming unplugged release.
"I'm creating about three or four new songs, and I'm really excited about putting that together," Alicia told MTV. "I'm going to tape it in July and it's going to be released in October. ... One of [the tracks] is kind of classic me. Another one is like a fusion of blues-rock and soul. It's crazy! And the other one I'm thinking of doing is this particular remake that I'm not going to tell you about yet, because I don't want to say it and then it doesn't happen."
Once she has completed that project, Alicia will move on to creating her third studio album, the follow-up to the sensational 'The Diary Of Alicia Keys'. And as if that's not enough, a book and film are also in the pipeworks. Alicia's latest book will follow on from her 2004 collection of poems and lyrics, 'Tears For Water'.
"It'll be a more fiction-based book," she told MTV. "It'll be based on my life, but I want to turn it into a more fictitious character. I love the written word so much, I know it's gonna flow naturally."
As for her foray into feature films, Alicia will star in the Halle Berry produced 'Composition Of Black And White' as 1950s inter-racial pioneer Phillipa Schuyler, who was also a prodigious piano player. If Alicia's other efforts are anything to go by, her acting debut is also sure to be nothing short of brilliant.
