John Butler Trio are about to give fans exactly what they want - more opportunities to see the talented Aussies perform this summer! Continuing to gain momentum at radio, press and retail; The
John Butler Trio will return to the U.S. for an extensive summer-long tour which kicks off at the massive outdoor WBOS festival in
Boston on August 18.
The tour, which features several opening slots for
Dave Matthews Band, both in Los Angeles and at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, will continue through October 2nd, ending at the Somerville Theatre in Massachusetts. Other highlights on the tour include stopovers at Bumbershoot in Seattle, the Sugar Bowl Festival in California and a return visit to the 2005 Austin City Limits Festival where John was one of last year's top sellers. The
John Butler Trio will perform songs off their well-received debut album "Sunrise Over Sea," which has sold over 43,000 albums since release.
In addition to the upcoming tour, The John Butler Trio's new single "
What You Want" is gearing up to go to radio on August 8th, following the success of "
Zebra" which climbed to No 12 at the AAA format and is still in heavy rotation at heavyweight stations such as KFOG in San Francisco, KMTT in Seattle, KBCO in Denver and WBOS Boston. The majestic new track was selected by HBO to kick off their Fall Season preview, which begins extensive airing on the network in August.
Already a household name in their native country, the
John Butler Trio are winning over fans here in America, including many of the country's tastemakers and critics. The band has appeared on A&E's Breakfast with the Arts, Late Night With
David Letterman, Late Late Show with
Craig Ferguson and most recently Jimmy Kimmel Live, which aired on June 14. In addition, journalists across the country have praised the Australian trio.
