SYDNEY, Australia (SONY BMG Music Australia) - Award-winning neo-soulster John Legend will return to Australia later this year to tour with the Black Eyed Peas. With John's debut major label album 'Get Lifted' garnering rave reviews, this is set to be a show not to miss!
Having just picked up a BET Award for 'Best New Artist' and following on from sell-out shows in Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year, John Legend is coming back to our humble shores to treat us to the sounds of his gorgeous voice and unbelievable piano skills.

He completely blew audiences away on his last visit, and played two of the most talked about gigs of the year. Despite suffering from an illness at the time, John soldiered on, and won over a whole new legion of fans with his sweet sounds. In Sydney, his show was scheduled to take place at The Basement, but had to be moved to bigger venue The Metro, due to overwhelming demand!

This time around, John is touring with the Black Eyed Peas - a group he has an interesting history with. Not only has he done session work with the hip hop stars, but Will.I.Am from the group did some production work on 'Get Lifted', and first single 'Used To Love You' has a strong Peas influence.
"We had the Black Eyed Peas horns and guitar player on the track," says John, "so you get a little of their flavour too."

'Get Lifted' is definitely an album full of flavour that manages to fuse the vibe of old school soul with 21st century hip-hop. While the romantic themes of traditional R&B are present, they've been given a street edge and confident air - think the sensuality of Marvin Gaye and the sincerity of Stevie Wonder merging with the directness of Snoop Dogg and the wit of Kanye West.

Check out what some local critics have said...
"This is powerful piano-driven soul with an upbeat, urban edge." - Sunday Magazine
"There is a depth in his reflections that is reminiscent of the greats and while his stage name might be presumptuous, he lives up to the expectations." - Sun Herald
Don't miss your chance to get lifted by this legend in the making when he comes to town later this year.

John Legend's upcoming tour dates
Friday September 23, Brisbane - Entertainment Centre
Sunday September 25, Melbourne - Rod Laver Arena
Friday September 30, Adelaide - Entertainment Centre
Sunday October 2, Sydney - Entertainment Centre
Thursday October 6, Christchurch - Westpac Trust Centre
Saturday October 8, Auckland - The Supertop
