New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer/rapper Elujay and producer J.Robb, announce their collaborative EP 'GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE.' Having discovered each other through Soundcloud in 2017, the reality of Elujay and J.Robb collaborating was always an afterthought - until this year's circumstances forced both artists into their reclusive, yet comforting, home studios. Soon, 'GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE' was born.
On the joint EP, the rising stars bring their refreshing, fluid styles and masterfully lay down eight soulful tracks. Elujay and J.Robb's musical dexterity comes at full force, stringing together a sprawling mix of genres into a palliative and cohesive project. The recording process spanned two months of back and forth communication on Zoom and iMessage. Plugged directly into their musical havens (a.k.a. their own homes), Elujay and J.Robb bounced ideas off each other and tapped collaborators and friends - Kyle Dion, ROMderful and Ciscero - to flesh out their sound.
'GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE' is a project compiled of many ideas that date all the way back to 2017," says J.Robb. "To me this project is a representation of just having fun with the homies, making music, and creating from a space of joy."
"It turned out to be easier than going in and out of the studio," says J.Robb. "We were able to create amazing music from our homes on different sides of the country in the middle of an ongoing pandemic. It shows just how well we were able to find a rhythm and chemistry and draw on our influences to create something amazing."
All in all, 'GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE' represents the delights of coming across treasures in the most unexpected places.
"After making this record together, it's clear that our chemistry is undeniable," says Elujay. "I really appreciate the time we had during quarantine on Zoom making tunes! J.Robb's the goat for sure!"
