NEW YORK (www.jeanshy.com) - The Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Santa Monica and JETA ENTERTAINMENT present the LOVE, PEACE & UNITY GOSPEL JUBILEE on Sun., August 21.05 at 5:00pm with the special Program JEAN SHY sings MAHALIA JACKSON.

JEAN SHY is being accompanied by the excellent RON BISHOP Trio. Together they will perform a dynamic Mix of Gospels & Spirituals from the Repertoire of the great Gospel Legend Mahalia Jackson.

Born in Chicago, Jean Shy's vocal Background had it's beginning in Gospel Music. Her musical influences were very versatile ranging from Mahalia Jackson to Elvis Presley; Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington to Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and some of the other great Gospel, Jazz and Soul Artists.

After national and regional successes in the US Jean Shy branched out and went to Europe, making Germany her second home. There she formed her own Band THE SHY GUYS with which she has been performing to thousands of Fans at major Festivals, Concert Halls and Churches throughout Europe for nearly twenty Years.

Many European Press Critics compare JEAN SHY to the legendary Gospel Queen Mahalia Jackson.

In 2004 Jean Shy returned to the USA after living overseas for more than 14 Years. She is currently promoting her new US Gospel CD release entitled ONE DAY which also includes Songs that will be performed at the Concert.
