Four Best Bollywood Movies Of Shah Rukh Khan
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The internet has changed every aspect of human life. Even our entertainment modes have seen a drastic change due to the World Wide Web. The CDs and DVDs we once coveted are now gathering dust in an obscure corner, while Netflix series, casino online games, and YouTube videos are now taking up the bulk of our leisurely time.

However, there are many things that have remained the same for us over the years. And one of them are the movies of Shah Rukh Khan.

1- My Name is Khan (2010)

The most expensive Bollywood film of 2010 My Name is Khan was a roaring success for director Karan Johar and lead star Shah Rukh Khan. The film went on to break many box office records at the time, while it also received highly positive reviews from the critics. Many hailed the moving performances of Khan and Kajol, with Karan Johar's flawless direction also receiving a fair share of praises.

Set against the backdrop of 9/11, the movie focuses on the life of Rizwan Khan who is afflicted with Asperger's Syndrome but is immensely gifted. He sets out to meet the US President after tragedy hits the lives of Khan and his wife Mandira. It won three Filmfare Awards for Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress.

2- Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)

In this romantic comedy-drama film, Shah Rukh Khan is at the best of his powers as he plays the role of a funny and cheerful Aman Mathur who is a terminally ill patient. Despite being in love with his neighbour Naina Catherine Kapur, Aman tries to set her up with her best friend Rohit Patel due to his despairing situation.

Written by Karan Johar, Kal Ho Naa Ho explores the themes of terminal illness, love, inter-caste marriage, and even homosexuality through innuendo. It was released in November 2003 and became a commercial success, earning $18.8 million on the box office.

Kal Ho Naa Ho went on to win two National Film Awards, eight Filmfare Awards, and three Screen Awards. It was also very well received by the critics who waxed lyrical about the moving performances of Shah Rukh. While the film's direction, story, screenplay, and cinematography were also much appreciated by the commentators.

3- Dil Se (1998)

The 1998 romantic thriller Dil Se is one of the best examples of Shah Rukh's finest acting performances. The King of Bollywood plays the role of an All India Radio journalist called Amar who falls in love with a mysterious woman named Meghna (who is played by Manisha Koirala). However, she doesn't reciprocate his feelings because she is on a secret mission with a terrorist group.

Although Dil Se failed to win over audiences at home, it received a very positive response overseas, particularly in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. The Mani Ratnam directed film won two National Film Awards and six Filmfare Awards.

Film commentators praised the fine performances of Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta, but it came under some criticism for its story.

4- Mohabbatein (2000)

Mohabbatein marked the first collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, the two biggest names in the industry. Amitabh portrayed the character of a strict principal of a prestigious college called Gurukul, while Khan played the role of a music teacher who stands in opposition to the rules of the institution's head. The film was a major critical and commercial success for director Aditya Chopra.
