VANCOUVER, Canada (www.mongooserocks.com) - Kicking off their biggest cross-Canada attack ever, MONGOOSE will release their second full-length album "EVIL ART" with a CD release party on Friday, August 26th, 2005 at The Lamplighter, 210 Abbott St (at Water St) in Gastown, Vancouver, before hitting the road to tour. Joining them will be local legends BIG TALL GARDEN and THE FEMINISTS.

Vancouver's Mongoose delivers blistering, high octane energy. Showcasing disparate styles held together with a punk rock ethos, their hard-rocking musical assault is driven by relentless beats and incendiary guitars. Live, they skitter and jerk, pounding their way through sets that have audiences up on their feet at every show as they ignite the stage with electrifying performances. Their set at NewMusicWest '04 had Shocore's Cory White declaring it "The best damn show of NMW!"

The latest Mongoose album "Evil Art" was recorded live off the floor and promises a punchy, versatile sonic assault from a raucous group ready to take the world by storm. Inspired by the likes of The Clash, The Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Johnny Cash, David Bowie and U2, their debut full-length recording "White Plastic Deer" was released on Copperspine Records and distributed nationally through Sony Music Canada.

Exclaim! magazine describes Mongoose as "a bit of an enigma, an extraordinary band who display an almost unnatural ease when it comes to crossing over into any musical genre and possessing the ability to write memorable songs while doing so." Their shows are a must-see, so be sure to catch Mongoose on their Western Canadian Tour:
