New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Poolside releases a new 12", I Feel High, a collection of reinterpretations and remixes of their track "I Feel High" taken from their most recent album Low Season (2020). The original track, co-written with
Cut Copy bassist Ben Browning, was the seed for entirely original collaborations with DRAMA ("I Feel High (with DRAMA)") and L'Impératrice ("I Feel High (with L'Impératrice), and has been remixed by French producer Vibes4YourSoul and Los Angeles-based indie electronic duo Space with Spaces. I Feel High is available as a limited 12" courtesy of legendary independent German tastemakers City Slang via their site or Poolside's web store.
Poolside is the recording project of producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise. Poolside began in a converted Los Angeles backyard pool house in early 2011 when Paradise set out on a low-stakes journey to produce appropriately chill music for summer soirees, a light but danceable kind of music with sunny vibes and liquid rhythm that he dubbed "Daytime Disco". Since then, Poolside has released three acclaimed albums - Pacific Standard Time (2012), Heat (2017), and Low Season (2020) - remixed countless high-profile acts such as Billy Idol,
Jack Johnson &
Milky Chance, Miami Horror, Rhye, L'impératrice and more, and toured the world over for nearly a decade as a formidable five-piece live band, performing at major festivals across the globe including Coachella, Outside Lands, Primavera and
Corona Capital and supporting marquee artists like LCD Soundsystem, Kacey Musgraves, and Tycho.
Space with Spaces is indie electronic duo Bryan Neff and Greg Tuzin. They come from backgrounds in art, design, film, and photography. Their first single F***ING GREAT, premiered in Atwood Magazine. Since then, they have been creating an immersive experience on stage, until the pandemic drew them back into the studio. They will be releasing new material monthly. Keep an eye out for ALONE TOGETHER.
Space with Spaces weaves together complex landscapes of sound under the manicured facade of catchy melody. At first listen, their songs seem familiar and deceivingly simple. Simple, that is, until you pull at the thread of an interesting tone to find it unravels into a curated menagerie of disco, house, anthemic rock, and ambiance that reward multiple listens. It's the sort of music you'd expect to hear during a summertime pool party on the rooftop of some chic downtown LA club, but also while laying on your back on a cool desert night watching the stars spin on the vinyl turntables of the cosmos.
Tuzin met Paradise during the height of the electro-house scene in San Francisco's underground discos. Paradise, a DJ, and promoter (Blow Up), often performed with Tuzin's visual projections. Space with Spaces began work on their remix of "I FEEL HIGH" following the completion of their
Highland Park studio, a space where Poolside's Paradise would often hang out and the two would share ideas.
