New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Emerging singer-songwriter renforshort returns with her anthemic new track "fall apart" featuring rising star glaive - listen here. ren's fiery vocals are complimented by a striking guitar rift on the pop-punk earworm, which also mark the singer's first production nod. The release comes alongside a cinematic visual featuring both artists.
"'fall apart' is very, very special to me for many reasons," said ren. "For starters it's the first song I helped produce which is so exciting! I picked up the guitar and started to play around. I played something and Stint thought it was dope so we just went with it. This song has been a favorite song of mine for so long now, I feel like I've been waiting forever to put it out, I knew it needed a feature though and that's why it was taking even longer, legit a year later I knew who I wanted to do it and we got glaive on it, who is probably one of my favorite artists ever, so I've been so excited about that for so long now and I think it's a really cool song :)"
On working with ren, glaive said "ren is one of my favorite female artists. One day she asked me to be on the song and I said 'of course!'. I'm super happy with how the song and the video turned out."
"fall apart" - produced and written by renforshort and Stint - is the third song off ren's forthcoming sophomore EP, off saint dominique, out on June 4 via Interscope Records/Universal Music. The EP will include her critically acclaimed singles "virtual reality," and "exception" - both were met with massive global support and have earned over 4 million streams since release.
In 2021 alone, ren has been crowned a Vevo DSCVR artist, YouTube Trending Artist on the Rise, and the first artist selected as part of Samsung
Music Galaxy
Thursday spotlight series. Additionally, Guitar World praised, "[her] range-spanning vocals… renforshort is going from strength to strength, and that new EP can't come soon enough."
For renforshort, music is her diary: unfiltered, full of angst and tackling everyday teen struggles hit hardest when coming of age. The 18-year-old singer-songwriter doesn't pretend to have it all figured out, but she wants us to be by her side while she does. After releasing just two independent singles,
Lauren inked her first record deal with Interscope Records just last year. At the peak of the pandemic, she shared her debut EP teenage angst, brimming with seven soul-baring, alt-pop bangers influenced by everyone from
Nirvana to Amy Winehouse.
And she hasn't slowed down since. While quarantine found many teens biding their time making TikTok videos, renforshort continued cutting her teeth writing music. The result is her sophomore EP off saint dominique, a collection of deeply reflective and snappy tracks that range from acoustic pop to alt-rock to pop-punk. Finding inspiration in cinematic horror and Stranger Things, there's a darker, more mature edge to off saint dominique. "Sonically there's inspiration everywhere from hyperpop, to grunge to even almost Disney vibes," renforshort says. With off saint dominique, renforshort wants to continue taking listeners along with her as she navigates the complexities of young adulthood and becomes more comfortable in her art.
