Waylon Payne Finds Redemption Coming "Back From The Grave" In New Video, Out Now

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Waylon Payne, who released his "extraordinary… timeless" (NPR) 'Blue Eyes, The Harlot, The Queer, The Pusher & Me' album last Fall, shares a new video for redemptive song "Back From The Grave" today.

"Back From The Grave" was written by Payne alongside Brandy Clark and Clint Lagerberg (Keith Urban's "Blue Ain't Your Color"), and represents the chapter of salvation in Waylon's previously treacherous life. After dealing with abuse, abandonment, drug addiction and more for many years, Payne eventually put the pieces of his life back together with the help of family and friends. The video, which is produced by Kirsten Balani, is a cinematic interpretation of the exhaustion he felt digging his own grave with bad habits and then it goes in reverse to represent his journey healing.

"I have always been a fan of songwriters, and when I returned to Tennessee I was able to hook up with some of the best," says Payne. "Clint Laderburg is a solid hitmaker in Nashville, and we had a hit off a few weeks earlier, so he called for another. When I walked into the room, there was the awesome Brandy Clark. I had been a fan of hers for quite some time as well, and we quickly set out to the task at hand. What resulted is this little gem of salvation and redemption."
