New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Our Lady Peace, a cornerstone of the modern rock radio landscape, release their new explosive, statement track "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" - a tounge-in-cheek take on celebrity influencer culture and its effects on society. The track is inspired by the art of Plastic Jesus and channels a more upbeat, dance-like sound akin to TV on the Radio and The Killers while pulling from rock's past in David Bowie and Zooropa-era U2. Featuring the groundbreaking Pussy Riot, this song pushes Our Lady Peace's call to action: It's time to work on real dreams. The new track is off of the forthcoming record 'Spiritual Machines 2', a sequel to OLP's seminal 2000 alt rock classic album. Details to follow.

"SMSPF is our anti-rock intro to the new future-leaning Our Lady Peace. Even our friend Ray Kurzweil couldn't predict we would challenge all preconceptions of what OLP is capable of," shares frontman Raine Maida.

"Today, when 7 members of pussy riot are arrested (again) in Moscow for 15 days, and 2 of them are facing 2 years in jail, I want to reassure you that you should never give too much power and fame to stupid people like the president of my country. Also, it's a pleasure to work with Our Lady Peace and with my long-term friend and collaborator Dave Sitek" said Nadya from Pussy Riot.

The group recently released 'Spiritual Machines Acoustic - Side A', the first part of a sonic overhaul of their critically acclaimed 2000's album that has become a pillar of late 90s alt rock and a prime example of the creative brilliance that has earned OLP a devoted following. While the original 'Spiritual Machines' was influenced by inventor Ray Kurzweil's book "The Age Of The Spiritual Machines," this acoustic album is filled with Raines' mesmerizing vocals and hints of nostalgia that will take the listeners back to the year 2000.

Our Lady Peace, consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, Steve Mazur and Jason Pierce, is one of the most successful Canadian bands of the post-grunge era, garnering platinum-selling album after platinum-selling album while also achieving acclaim in the US with hits such as "Superman's Dead", "Clumsy" "Somewhere Out There" etc. The band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide, won four JUNO Awards and ten MuchMusic Video Awards - one of the most awarded group's in MMVA's history, and have toured the world with The Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, The Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, Alanis Morrisette, and more, in addition to launching their iconic music festival, Summersault, and playing at legendary festivals such as Woodstock '99 and Live 8.
