Richard Marx Releasing Debut Memoir Stories To Tell Next Tuesday, July 6th
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In his debut memoir Stories to Tell out next Tuesday, July 6th via Simon & Schuster, Richard Marx gets at the heart of moments that most shaped his life — like what he learned from the tragic and sudden loss of his father, a jazz pianist-turned-jingle composer who inspired him to become a songwriter, surrendering to Lionel Richie's call to move to LA when Richard was just 17, why he's always fought the urge to celebrate, the time a fan recognized him with NSYNC as her mom's favorite artist and more.

Spawned from Richard's need to share stories on stage at his solo shows, Stories to Tell has been in the works for nearly the last decade. The book begins a few months before the coronavirus pandemic; then transports us back to 1968 when he was just five years old; takes us on an exciting, insightful, heartbreaking and hilarious journey through his life and career, and culminates a few months after the pandemic lockdown of 2020 with him battling a mysterious illness (and no, not COVID).

Along with his 30 plus year career documented in his always entertaining and matter-of-fact way of speaking, the memoir features vignettes from Richard's colorful experiences with the art and business of music. In his straightforward style, he recounts an amazing artistic journey, collaborations with artists including Luther Vandross, Keith Urban, Josh Groban, NSYNC, and Natalie Cole, life on tour and his love and life with wife Daisy Funetes. Read more about Richard's incredible list of collaborations in his recent interview with Associated Press, and get an exclusive preview of the time he recorded with NSYNC at Stereogum.

Last week, People Magazine spoke with Richard for an exclusive story about his "Now and Forever" muse Daisy Fuentes, along with their relationship's evolution, how he's finding continued inspiration in his music and more. Tune in tomorrow, Wednesday, June 29th at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET to see Daisy interview Richard for Talk Shop Live about the memoir. More details here: https://talkshop.live/watch/CliwUub6qpVN

And this Friday, July 2nd, Richard celebrates the release of Stories To Tell with a two-disc soundtrack Stories To Tell: Greatest Hits And More via BMG. It features remastered versions of his biggest hits plus never before released demos, live tracks and fresh interpretations of songs he penned for other artists including NSYNC's "This I Promise You," Josh Groban's "To Where You Are" and Keith Urban's "Better Life."
