New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Jacob Sartorius, the multi-talented 18-year-old musician, actor, and worldwide social media force releases his new single "For Real" as an independent artist. The "For Real" video premiered today exclusively on MTV and Nickelodeon, plus the video is featured on the MTV screen on 1515 Broadway in New York City, NY - his Times Square debut.

The infectious, pop-rock-inflected track playfully explores a sense of disconnection. "For Real" was inspired by The Truman Show -- Jacob's favorite film -- in which Jim Carrey's character discovers his whole life is a simulated reality show. Sartorius says it's "about my growing up for five years in the internet spotlight. It addresses my experience living in LA and how personal interactions can come off as disingenuous." Conceptualized and co-produced by Sartorius himself, the color-saturated video further showcases this unreality on "The Sartorius Show".

"For Real" was written by Sartorius with Matthew Marino (Mod Sun), Anthony Benjamin Rodini, George Astasio (Zayn, Jessie J), Jason Pebworth (Charlie XCX, Lil Peep) , Jon Shave (Miley Cirus, Rita Ora) and Darryl Reid, produced by Tony "Trodz" Rodini and co-produced by The Invisible Men (Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, Zayn) and Darryl Reid.
"For Real" previews Jacob's coming EP, his first in 2021, slated for release later this summer.

18-year-old entertainer, musician, actor and social media phenomenon, Jacob Sartorius has seamlessly evolved from online stardom to mainstream ubiquity, amassing a highly engaged, worldwide audience while following his own path. Jacob garnered RIAA gold status for his singles ``Sweatshirt" (2016) and "Hit or Miss' ' (2017) and released EPs The Last Text (2017) and Left Me Hangin' (2018). Jacob embarked on a sold-out, 2018 worldwide tour and released the Better with You EP in 2019. The singles "The Party Goes Harder" (2019), and "Over U" (2020) followed, with his latest single "For Real'' ready to drop this summer.

Sartorius consistently delivers honest and heartfelt content that has catapulted him to "5th most engaged user on Twitter" and "one of the most engaged accounts globally on Instagram." He has accumulated 9.4 million Instagram followers and over 3 million YouTube subscribers. He became one of Tik Tok's most popular content creators with more than 24 million followers. In addition to sold-out performances in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Sydney and Paris, Jacob has graced the cover of Billboard magazine, guested on HBO's Vice News and NPR's Here and Now, performed at the Kid's Choice Awards and HALO Awards and made his national tv debut on MTV's TRL. The New York Times featured Jacob's EP Left Me Hangin' in its Fall Preview and his single "Hit Me Back'' featuring Blackbear in its 54 Best Songs of 2017 alongside Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow."
