NEW YORK (Interscope Records) - Sometimes things fit - famous case-in-point getting your chocolate in my peanut butter. And the acronym-heavy nin/QOTSA tour, NICE. Fits like a fat lady and singing, a stone and a witch, meatballs and pasta. The heavy stuff. Make that meatballs and gnocci. Anyway, Queens will join nine inch nails September 16th in San Diego through November.
Performing large-scale arena shows all around the country, the two acclaimed bands will be joined by opening act Death From Above 1979. Queens frontman Josh Homme recently stepped behind the console to remix two of DFA1979's songs, "Black History Month" and "Romantic Rights."

When not dabbling in production, QOTSA have sustained their penchant for covering unusual songs written by other artists. The band has recorded a version of Joe Walsh's "In the City", which will be included on the soundtrack to the Warriors video game (out in October). The game, which is based on the cult-classic film about warring New York City street gangs, will also feature QOTSA music.

In addition to their journey though the American heartland, QOTSA played a show at London's Brixton Academy on August 23 that was filmed for a live album and DVD. The release, coming out November 22nd, will include intimate behind-the-scenes footage and interviews alongside dollops of new material, covers, and old gems.
