New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Purity is poised to release a limited Edition Digipak version of their new EP, re:animus with Static Era Records at the end of the Summer. re:animus exhibits an evolving sound for the band, which is on display in the lead single "Enmity". The song reveals an interesting evolution from their first release, most notably a broader sensibility, without compromising their initial vision. The result is a perfect combination of heavy breaks, punishing riffs, and melody along with polished industrial overtones.
The Las
Vegas based band originally exploded on the Metalcore scene in 2016 with their own brand of Nu Metal. Their debut EP, Failure In Four Broken Frames, showcased their unique combination of downtuned heavy riffs infused with melody along with lyrics that convey an uncompromising and negative worldview. Pessimism combined with a focus on the darker side of life are common themes that Purity is not afraid to embrace.
The members of Purity cite bands as diverse as
Nine Inch Nails and Fury of Five among their greatest influences. "I think a lot of music out there is made in an attempt to make people forget about the negative aspects of their lives. We write music that focuses on those negative aspects," said guitarist Jett Stotts. The band has also supported a diverse variety of touring heavyweights such as Heavens Die, Shame Spiral, Vatican, Silenus, Dying Wish, to name a few.
The new EP was recorded in early 2020 with Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Studios in Tucson, AZ and displays a more focused sound for the band that continues their all out crushing assault on the senses. This expanded version of re:animus also features remixes by members of Vein.FM, Sanction and Section H8.
Static Era Records CEO, Jay Reason is excited about the label's new signing. "Providing Purity with the resources Static Era has available, there is no limit to what can be accomplished. The band first caught my attention when they performed on the East Coast in 2019. Their live show, the combination of musical influences and work ethic made the decision to sign them a no-brainer."
Purity vocalist, Worm added: "We're ecstatic to be able to put out the definitive version of 're:animus' with Static Era, and are humbled to be on board. We can't wait to continue to push musical boundaries with the help of Jay and his talented team."
Purity joins Static Era's existing roster, which includes Vision Of Disorder / Bloodsimple vocalist Tim Williams' new project Rollin' Coffin, hardcore heavyweights Cruel Hand and Canada's critically acclaimed alternative rock band, Sights & Sounds.
