New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Toronto hip hop artist and OVO affiliate, Riicch, has been gaining the interest of Toronto's hip hop community with his debut release, God Don't Sleep. The EP serves as a reflection on Riicch's life up to this point - diving into how he dealt with the passing of his older brother and fellow OVO affiliate, Anthony "Fif" Soares.

Riicch begins the project with high-energy, confident tracks addressing how he's past a lot of the drama that ensued in recent years. The EP then takes a reflective turn, with songs like "God Don't Sleep" where Riicch addresses his brother's death and its effect on him. The track is Riicch's opportunity to show his true feelings about the situation, and how he plans on moving forward.

Overall, the EP is a deep-dive into the mind of Riicch. It manages to paint an effective picture on what defines Riicch as an artist - pain, overcoming, and a trust in his relationship with God. Riicch manages to convey his message through a variety of trap, drill, and R&B. He manages to transition smoothly between all three styles, giving the project a cohesive, complete feel.

Along with the debut EP was a music video for his lead single, "Spur of the Moment", featuring a short preview of the introspective track, "God Don't Sleep". The video shows a transition between styles, and is an effective introduction to the feel of the EP.
