BBC Two Presents Sting: Reel Stories
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) The multi-award winning artist, Sting, joins Dermot O'Leary for an in-depth interview about his remarkable life and career, in the latest edition of Reel Stories for BBC Two. The programme, to be broadcast in December, will see Dermot and Sting settle down in a cinema to relive some of Sting's most famous performances and interviews from over the years.

From his very first TV appearance on the BBC's The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1978, to performing at Live Aid in 1985, to his reunion tour with The Police in 2007, Sting's career has been well documented on screen. The appearances are so numerous, that there's much he hasn't ever seen - until now.

Prompted by this abundance of archive, Sting shares his memories and stories with Dermot, and reminisces about his musical journey that now spans five decades.

Dermot says: "One of my earliest memories was watching The Police on Top of the Pops. I hadn't met Sting before and it was a real privilege to sit down and listen to his story, which spans decades of musical history."

Rachel Davies, Commissioning Executive, BBC Music TV says: "Since Reel Stories began in 2018, we've seen some incredible guests - from Kylie Minogue to Dave Grohl - sit down with Dermot to share their personal stories. Sting is one of the UK's most treasured artists and I'm delighted he'll be joining this stellar list of Reel Stories interviewees in December. I know that viewers will love hearing his reflections on his extraordinary career."

Sting, who turned 70 in October, has won numerous awards, including Brits, Ivor Novellos, a Golden Globe Award and 17 Grammy Awards - including Best Reggae Album for 44/876 with Shaggy in 2019. The Police, the band Sting fronted between 1997 and 1986, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. His latest album, The Bridge, showcases his prolific and diverse songwriting prowess with a new set of songs, representing styles and genres he has explored throughout his career.

Sting: Reel Stories follows Dermot's Reel Stories encounters with Noel Gallagher, Dave Grohl, Kylie Minogue and Rod Stewart. Sting: Reel Stories is commissioned by Rachel Davies, Commissioning Executive, BBC Music TV and is produced by Craft Films and Ora Et Labora.
