New York, NY (Top40 Charts) North Carolina singer-songwriter Andrew X is getting ready to release his second album Young Hearts in 2022. Young Hearts features a collection of songs, that are bright, fun, and have a throwback retro rock vibe to the late 1980's/early 1990's and pay homage to albums and artists from that era such as Tom Petty, Eddie Money, and The Outfield. The material for Young Hearts was written when Andrew X was in his late 20's and was written about what it means to be young, having fun, and involved in romantic relationships. The album was produced by RIAA Certified Gold producer Matt Goldman (Copeland, Underoath) and mastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner (David Bowie, Linkin Park.). The album is intended to be lighthearted and fun, and to allow the listener to have songs they can enjoy while hanging with their friends, thinking of their special someone, or going through a tough time.
When asked about the inspiration behind second album release Young Hearts Andrew X said, "There are plenty of voices in the world we are currently living in that are telling us we should be worried, concerned, or outright scared or angry. My goal for the Young Hearts album is for it to be a voice of hope, love, and joy. Life can be fun, and you can be happy, if you choose to be. We are what we do and what we focus our minds on. My hope is that Young Hearts can be a soundtrack for those who are in love, having fun, overcoming challenges, and focusing on that which is good."
Today we are pleased to join forces with Andrew for the premiere of his new single "Young Love," a track that captures most of the sound and sentiments that the album aims for.
About the song, Andrew comments "Youth is wasted on the young." Being young affords all of us many freedoms, open doors, and opportunities that may not exist later in life as we grow older and take on more responsibilities in life. With that in mind, I think it is important that we make the best of every day by living passionately and doing our best to leave no room for regret later in life, no matter what stage of life you are currently at. I once had a friend who had just graduated high school and was about to start college, yet she often would like to talk about things like saving for retirement, buying life insurance, and what she was going to do when she retired. At first, I thought she was kidding, but after hearing her bring up similar topics on multiple occasions, I realized she was serious! While I realize those things are important, I just couldn't bring myself to be concerned about them at that time in my life. I wrote
Young Love in response to these conversations I had with my friend."
