New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Kings Theatre is excited to welcome Award-winning singer/songwriter
Jazmine Sullivan to Brooklyn on March 17, 2022 at 8PM (doors at 6:30PM). Tickets will be on sale this Friday, December 3rd at 10am.
Hot off the heels of winning two Soul
Train Awards (Album of the Year and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist) and receiving three Grammy Awards nominations (Best R&B Album, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for "Pick Up Your Feelings"), Jazmine announces the long-awaited North American "The Heaux Tales Tour."
Often cited as one of today's most dynamic vocalists,
Jazmine Sullivan made a triumphant return to the top of the charts with her latest release Heaux Tales (RCA Records), which debuted at No. 1 on the R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The project recently earned Sullivan two Soul
Train Awards (Album of the Year and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist), a BET Award (Album of the Year) and three Grammy nominations (Best R&B Album, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for "Pick Up Your Feelings").
With vulnerable lyrics and candid spoken word tales, the project not only resonated with fans and fellow creatives (Cardi B, Issa Rae, Flea from Red Hot
Chili Peppers,
Summer Walker and more), but also topped several "best of" weekly lists, including New York Times Critic's Pick, Pitchfork, The Fader and more. Sullivan's much buzzed about performances on Super Bowl LV, NPR's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert,
Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, 2020 Soul
Train Music Awards, in addition to acoustic performance videos for"
Lost One" and "Pick Up Your Feelings," are all evidence of Sullivan's vocal versatility, making each live rendition uniquely their own and leaving viewers awestruck.
Sullivan's 2008-debut album Fearless featured the chart-topping hit singles "Need You Bad" and "Bust Your Windows," and earned the Philadelphia native seven Grammy nominations including Best New Artist. Sullivan released her second album, the critically acclaimed Love Me Back in 2010, of which the Associated Press declared as "something amazing" and consequently garnered her an eighth Grammy nomination for "Holding You Down (Goin' In Circles)." Sullivan's 2015 third studio album, Reality Show, which included fan favorites "Let It Burn," "Forever Don't Last," and "Mascara," debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, No. 3 on the
Digital Albums chart and No. 12 on the Billboard Top 200.
The album also received three Grammy nominations and appeared on numerous "best of" lists, including NPR
Music which proclaimed Jazmine "is blessed with a ninth-wonder-of-the-world voice: She sounds sly, raspy, nimble, battleship-sturdy, gospel-drenched, emotionally devastating." Sullivan is the recipient of the Billboard Women in
Music Rising Star Award (2010) and BET Her Award (2009).
