New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It's finally on the way! Critically acclaimed St. Louis artist, rapper, writer, and producer Smino revealed the title of his anxiously awaited third album and full-length debut for Motown titled, Luv 4 Rent, today. He appeared on the hilarious YouTube Originals short, What Say What, hosted by the incomparable Teddy Rayand presented by HOORAE as part of "Bear Witness, Take Action 3"- a six-part special event series hosted by Common and Keke Palmer which is executive produced by Smino. New specials drop December 7-8 only on YouTube.

In the 18 minute-plus video, Smino pulls up on Teddy for an in-depth interview out of the comedian's "mama crib." Smino dons an eclectic-fly leather jacket, while delivering a riveting sonic-infused performance of his new single "I Deserve." Meanwhile, they discuss other St. Louis-born icons such as Nelly who had a big impact on the multi-talented powerhouse. Teddy goes on to call him "one of the most talented artists in my lifetime in this generation." All kinds of hilarity ensues during the conversation with Smino along with a glimpse into his music world.

Smino paved the way for the forthcoming album with "I Deserve" [feat.N.O.S.]. It has racked up over 5 million-plus streams and a half million views and counting on the music video thus far. Inciting critical acclaim, The FADER called it "a stoner anthem from the heart," and HIGH SNOBIETY cited it among "The Best New Music You Need to Hear (& Why)" and noted, "Smino turns a soulful beat into a luxe stoner anthem and reminds us why he deserves it all." In addition to plugs from Pitchfork, Vibe, and more, HYPEBEAST named it one of the "Best New Tracks," and Brooklyn Vegan hailed it as "an appealing blend of melodic sing-rapping and jazzy keys."

Get ready for more soon! With an unmistakable voice and undeniable stories, Smino asserts himself as one of the game's most singular forces. Drawing early inspiration from his musician grandfather, father, and mother, the St. Louis-born singer, songwriter, and producer carried on the family tradition as soon as he could. Following the success of his 2017 debut blkswn, he reached critical mass with its follow-up, NĂ˜IR. Not only did the project gather 140 million total streams, but it also closed out 2018 on year-end lists from Complex, REVOLT, The Atlantic, The Ringer, and more. In between, he collaborated with everyone from Doja Cat, Chance the Rapper, Noname, and SiR as well as the gold-selling "Sacrifices" [feat. Smino & Saba] by Dreamville with EARTHGANG and J. Cole. Simultaneously, he performed to sold out crowds in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles and joined SZA and T-Pain on tour. Beyond praise from PAPER Magazine, Pigeons & Planes, and more, Pitchfork crowned him "one of hip-hop's most refreshing voices." However, it's just the beginning. Signed to Motown in 2021, he presents his deepest and most dynamic vision yet with his forthcoming third album and debut for the label.
