Ferris & Sylvester Examine The Power Of Personal Connection With "Darkness I Feel"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today Ferris & Sylvester share the final preview from their debut album, Superhuman (coming March 11th) with "Darkness I Feel." As the last song they wrote for the record, the stark and vulnerable track finds the duo - who have been crowned UK's Americana Awards 'Emerging Artist of Year' and hailed 'one of the best bands of the last five years' (BBC) - deep in their individual loneliness, re-examining their faith in humanity and each other.

Throughout the soft-soul pseudo hymn, Archie Sylvester takes lead vocals with his low warm timbre as he wrestles with this existential crisis, singing the haunting "So throw me to the flames, I guess I'm going to hell then. I don't need them to pray, I just need a friend." Rescued by Issy Ferris' soothing mantra, "You have the best eyes I've seen, If I didn't know better I'd call you an angel." The track finds the pair blinded by darkness, only to find deliverance by the light they provide each other.
"This was the last song that we wrote for the record and answers the album's big question - 'how do we become something more, something Superhuman?,' says Ferris & Sylvester. "This is a song about what's important, about understanding the power of human friendships and the magic that exists right in front you. It is learning how to make sense of loneliness when you don't have a faith to attach it to. It is believing in people and embracing everything that makes us human (we are not superhuman). Full circle, right?"

"Darkness I Feel" serves as the final taste of their debut album, Superhuman, coming March 11th via PIAS. Written over the span of two years across lonely hotel rooms and long road trips, they recorded the 12-track album with Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, The Strokes) in Seattle's Bear Creek Studios, and with Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd, Youth) in Cornwall UK's Sawmills Studios, resulting in a project where genres intertwine, emotions are laid bare, and harmonies chill to the bone.

They found inspiration in everything from Breaking Bad to Jimi Hendrix to Fleetwood Mac, plus their recent escape to the countryside and their 19th-century cottage 90-minutes outside London. They have already previewed the album's first three songs with the rip-roaring title track "Superhuman," the intimate "Breadwinner," and "Golden," the latter of which they filmed at the London bar where they met nearly six years ago.

Hailed for their "immaculate harmonies" and "rich, fully realized sound" (Rolling Stone), Ferris & Sylvester fuse Americana and rock'n'roll sensibilities into an undeniable sound, and have built a name for themselves as one of the emerging artists to watch in the UK. All ahead of their debut record, the duo has won UK's Americana Awards 'Emerging Artist of Year,' earned more than 10M streams, garnered musical comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel and First Aid Kit, plus have already shared the stage with Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, George Ezra, Jade Bird and more. Set to return to SXSW this March, Ferris & Sylvester will also head out on UK and North American tours this spring and summer.
