The Top 10 Greatest American Vocalists Of All Time: Can These Guys Sing? They Sure (Ameri)can!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Here, we give our take on the ten best American vocalists of all time. Check it out and see if you agree. Here, we give our take on the ten best American vocalists of all time. Check it out and see if you agree. There's something personal about a voice. A vocal is a kind of auditory kiss that is summoned through the belly, pounded into shape by the throat, propelled by the bellows of the lungs, and coaxed into final form by tongue and lips. The beauty of the singer's voice reaches out to us in a way that is as personal as the location from whence it came. Today, I will give you my take on the ten best American singers of all time. To be clear, these are not in order as I cannot choose between them. Selecting ten was hard enough! Hopefully, when you think of American music, you will think of some of the guys.

  1. Whitney Houston - Whitney Houston is the most award-winning female artist of all time and one of the most successful musicians. She is the first performer in history to achieve seven consecutive number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100. Because of her tremendous talent, Houston has earned the moniker "The Voice" in the industry. That tells you everything you need to know about her.
  2. Aretha Franklin - Aretha Franklin was one of the most well-known soul singers and the first woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and began singing in church as a child. She recorded her debut gospel album, Songs of Faith, when she was 14 years old. Aretha was her first studio album, released in 1961. Franklin has sold more than 75 million albums and has received an incredible 18 Grammy Awards.
  3. Elvis Presley - He is known as the "King of Rock and Roll" and is considered one of the most important cultural symbols of the twentieth century. His energizing interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performing style, along with a singularly potent blend of influences spanning color lines during a pivotal period in racial relations, propelled him to success.
  4. Barbra Streisand - Barbra Streisand has a distinct voice that has enchanted audiences for more than 50 years. Her beautiful tone, belting prowess, and knack for ballads are just a few reasons she is so popular.
  5. Etta James - Etta James' powerful voice, as proven by her well-known love song "At Last," was immersed in her own real-life agony. After debuting in the early 1960s with songs like "All I Could Do Is Cry" and "I'd Rather Go Blind," James resurfaced in the late 1980s, releasing a slew of albums and reintroducing her best-known songs to a new generation.
  6. Frank Sinatra - Frank Sinatra was a chameleon when it came to vocals. For him, a song was always only a beginning point. So instead of singing a song in a specific way, he became the song, and his baritone reflected whatever mood he was experiencing at the time.
  7. Nat King Cole - It doesn't get any smoother than him, and his records will always be timeless. His voice still has a beautiful quality, and it's impossible not to feel completely at ease when listening to it.
  8. Ariana Grande - Ariana Grande, broke into the entertainment industry with the Broadway musical 13 and later rose to stardom with the television series Victorious and its spinoff, Sam & Cat. Her television series paved the way for her musical career, which blossomed with the production of five commercially successful and critically acclaimed albums and collaborations with a variety of other musicians.
  9. Ray Charles - A tragic fate may have given this visionary his heightened sensitivity, observation, awareness, and even expansion to his evident musical skills that he might not have explored if his physical ailment hadn't afflicted him. Whatever it was, Ray Charles revolutionized the face of American music.
  10. Stevie Wonder - Stevie Wonder is one of the most well-known musicians and songwriters. Due to his strong use of electronic instruments before others, he is regarded as a pioneer of genres such as R&B, Funk, Rock, Pop, and Soul. He has sold over 100 million albums and received 25 Grammy Awards. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is in every Hall of Fame.
