New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Wiith a palpable hunger for live performances after two years of COVID restrictions, concert goers are snapping up tickets to Loreena McKennitt's The Visit Revisited tour, promping the artist to add two more dates to her October tour of Ontario and Québec, which kicks off October 1st.
The five-city tour marks her long-awaited return to the live performance circuit and will commemorate the 30th anniversary of her Juno Award-winning album, The Visit, which was a life-altering turning point in her musical career.
A pent-up demand for live shows has prompted brisk ticket sales and the first shows in Montréal and Québec City are nearly sold old. In response, an additional Montréal performance has been added for Oct. 9th and a second show in Québec City has been scheduled for Oct. 6th.
The tour launches on October 1st in Hamilton, followed by performances at major concert halls in Montréal, Toronto, Québec City and Ottawa, winding up Oct. 9th.
In
September 2021, McKennitt released The Visit: The Definitive Edition, a deluxe limited-edition, hardback book format. The original album was released in Canada in 1991 and internationally in 1992. Entering into a partnership with the major international record company, Warner
Music Group, The Visit propelled McKennitt onto the world stage, a place where she has been comfortable ever since.

Accompanying McKennitt on tour will be long-time musical companions Caroline Lavelle on cello,
Brian Hughes on guitar, and Hugh Marsh on violin. Performances will include every song on The Visit, (in the order which they appear on the album), as well as other favourites from across her catalogue.
The Visit Revisted will be McKennitt's first time back on the road since her Lost Souls Tour in 2018, which began in Stratford, followed by performances in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, later taking her to
Europe that spring and summer for 49 concerts, eventually wrapping up in Canada in the fall of 2019. Her acclaimed performance at London's Royal Albert Hall was part of the tour. Accompanied by a stellar list of special guest musicians, the concert was released on vinyl through the artist's store on June 3rd and through other sources June 9th. It's available in two editions, one in clear blue viny and the other in black vinyl. The recording, Live At The Royal Albert Hall, was originally released on compact disc and digital services in November 2019.
Tickets for the four new shows on The Visit Revisted tour will go on sale Friday, June 10 through the Loreena McKennitt website.
