NEW YORK, NY (Urban Box Office/ www.ubo.com) - Bimbo, already a huge star in his native Puerto Rico, is instigating the greatest gas giveaway in American history! The novel new campaign is fueled by Bimbo's smash hit single, "Fill Up My Gas Tank" ("Fuleteame El Tanque") - currently No 2 on R&R's Latin Club Charts - and its controversial music video: a biting satire in which
George W. Bush, Saddam Hussein, Condoleezza Rice and Osama bin Laden are portrayed as greedy strippers, collectively responsible for raising the price of gas. Now, Bimbo is traveling across the country and taking control of prominent gas stations in the nation's major metropolitan markets - New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Dallas - the oil capital of America.
At each gas station giveaway, Bimbo gives a blistering performance of his newest hit, while his Freedom Girls are on hand pumping the gas. Bimbo has already helped struggling motorists by giving away thousands of dollars in free gasoline, at gas station events in Lower Manhattan, Washington, D.C. and in the heart of the Bronx - and sales of his brand new CD, "Bimbo Presenta: Reggaeton 100 x 35" (released by B&E Entertainment and distributed by Urban Box Office), have dramatically increased since the gas station promotions first began.
However, Bimbo has only just begun realizing his wildly original promo campaign. Last week in Dallas and Los Angeles Bimbo announced a radical new plan to give away 20,000 pre-paid gas cards to purchasers of the "Bimbo Presenta: Reggaeton 100 x 35" CD, beginning Monday, October 3. By the end of October, Bimbo will have done more for the American motorist than any person since Henry Ford.
Bimbo has built an impressive reputation through his previous work with artists including Alicia Keys (featured on her Reggaeton hit, "Karma"), Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony, Tito Nieves, La India and the legendary Carlos Santana (on a still-to-be-released track). He has even inspired his own animated series, "Bimbo and Friends," set to begin this fall on Cartoon Network and Univision.
Whether on the dance floor on behind the wheel, "Fill Up My Gas Tank" will soon become the rallying cry of Americans everywhere - and Bimbo will be there to oblige, filling tanks to the brim and satisfying thirsts for music that is new, exciting and unique.
