New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Latin Recording Academy announced the start of its 2022 Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions with a digital concert featuring Latin GRAMMY nominee El Fantasma, accompanied by Latin GRAMMY winners,
Los Dos Carnales and Lupita Infante, also a Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY nominee.
The concert - recorded at the Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral in Mexico City - features renditions of songs chosen by the artists, with never-before-heard collaborations, duets and storytelling, against the dramatic backdrop of the architecturally significant venue.
"Through our Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions, we aim to foster inclusive spaces where music creators can feature their craft, inspiring cultural appreciation, promotion and preservation of their respective genres," said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. "With so much new energy in the Mexican Regional genre, I'm thrilled that we are able to start the series with some of the new generation of talented artists."
"It is an honor for me to get the chance to perform in this first-ever acoustic session focused on Regional Mexican music, and to bring my culture and my country's musical traditions to a global audience," said El Fantasma. "The Latin Academy represents so much—respect, excellence and the preservation and continued advancement of Latin music—and this is an experience that I will never forget."
The full acoustic performance will be available via The Latin Recording Academy Facebook page on July 22, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. ET. After 48 hours, the performances will also be available exclusively on the artists' Facebook pages for 90 days.
"Music videos are an exciting part of people's social experience on Meta's platforms. The Latin Recording Academy has been a longtime partner, supporting artists to express themselves, share their music and connect with fans around the world," said Adrian Harley, Head of
Music Label Partnerships for Meta in Latin America. "We're delighted to exclusively premiere the 2022 Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions on Facebook."
The Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions began six years ago as a series of in-person events for small audiences offering intimate musical experiences combined with storytelling. In addition to showcasing established performers, they aim to promote the new generation of up-and-coming talent focusing on diversity and equity within each genre. Two years ago, the Latin GRAMMY Acoustic Sessions added a global digital franchise, providing access to Latin musical excellence for all.
Another digital concert from São Paulo will premiere later this month. Additional details, including the full line up, will be announced soon.
