New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The award-winning singer, actor, activist, and author
Jann Arden announces the upcoming release and 25th-anniversary celebration for her acclaimed third studio album Happy? available
September 23.
The chart-topping album, which went 2x times platinum in Canada and spawned Jann's number one hit Canadian hit "
The Sound Of", further showcased the artist's creative and commercial hold over Canadian Pop in the 90's following her Time for Mercy and Living Under June albums. To top off the 25th anniversary of the album, Jann has included some never-before heard acoustic versions of the hit single "
The Sound Of", as well as fan favorites "Saved" and "Ode To A Friend" which is available now. See below for the full track listing.
Though this is a time of remembrance for the artist, as 2022 marks a quarter-century since the album's release, Jann's musical career continues to grow to new heights. With the release of her new album Descendant, which came out in January,
Jann Arden has also embarked on her most extensive tour in eight years, with over 30 shows across Canada. On the new album, Jann says: "This was one of the most organic, whimsical records I've ever written; all things considered, it could have been a wrestling match to make music at all. As the entire world has discovered, good things come out of bad things. We were all forced to strip down, reevaluate our lives and our jobs and our relationships. We were forced to think about what we really wanted and where we wanted to go. We thought about time and how precious it was and is. We baked, walked, thought, read, and watched our way into a big, altered state. We remade our lives and cast aside trivial unimportant things."
Continuing to win notable accolades, including being inducted into the Canadian
Music Hall of Fame, Jann Arden's 25th-anniversary deluxe edition of her third album Happy? brings new life to the renowned album.
On looking back at the album Happy?,
Jann Arden says "When I think about the Happy? Record—I'm so glad that I was somehow still naïve enough to not worry about trying to measure up to the success of Living Under June. When Insensitive took off up the charts around the world, I think everyone was a little bit shocked including me. Everyone always worries about following up with another hit when that happens, but thankfully it just didn't even cross my mind. I just wanted to keep making music that I loved. I wanted to keep working and keep touring and that's just what I did. It's what I've always done. Happy? Continues to surprise me. The songs hold up so well- the sentiment of the writing, the beauty of the Late Ed Cherney's whimsical production- the musicianship— all of it. It's such a timeless record."
