New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Australia's TIN POT CLAY MAN are back with their new single 'MTV' and some exciting changes. Having previously released music as a solo bedroom artist, multi-instrumentalist Gaurav Jaswal has expanded the lineup in an exciting new direction for the project. The track features drummer Sam Marks in his first official TPCM release while Lewis O'Brien (bass) and keytarist Victor St Clair have completed the stage for their energetic live shows making waves in Australia this year.

An acronym for "My Tunnel Vision", MTV is consistent with the band's now predictably amusing, yet bleak melancholic lyrical themes ["When I'm alone, I get nervous that I've done something wrong or that I'm just not relevant"] and holds true to TPCM's new-wave/post-punk sound. However, the track also sees the band move in a more synth-focused and ambient direction. Working with respected producer Rob Wolfe for the first time, their partnership sees Tin Pot Clay Man enter a more modern dream-pop/shoegaze realm. But Jaswal's ethereal and soothing vocal tone, brilliantly accompanied by Marks' hard hitting and tight performance ascends the sound to a unique new level in the genre.

The track is accompanied by a retroactive, compilatory music video directed by up-and-comer Jed Newton. Featuring footage of the band performing MTV interchanged with clips and cultural references from years gone by, the video is an homage to the song's namesake and a tasteful reminder of how modern complexity can become a nostalgically familiar pleasure. Perhaps a clue of what we can expect from Tin Pot Clay Man itself on this new trajectory!

'MTV' is released everywhere this Friday, 9th September and the band launches the track at Melbourne's iconic Curtin Hotel the following Thursday before gearing up for a big end to the year and new EP due in 2023!
