NY Phil Announces Chris Thile-Curated Concerts With Brad Mehldau, Punch Brothers, More
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The New York Philharmonic has announced the lineups for the first two installments of The 65th Street Session, a NY Phil presentation curated by Chris Thile, its 2022-23 Creative Partner, in the Wu Tsai Theater of Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall this fall.

The first performance, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 7:30 pm, reunites Thile with past collaborators: pianist and label mate Brad Mehldau and experimental folk project Tune-Yards. Thile and Mehldau made their duo debut together with their 2017 self-titled Nonesuch album, a mix of covers and original songs, about which the Guardian exclaimed: "Two very different musicians hit a remarkable rapport on this double album." The concert is part of HOME, the Philharmonic's monthlong festival celebrating the reopening of the new David Geffen Hall.

For the second performance, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 7:30 pm, Thile joins his fellow Punch Brothers for a stop on the American Acoustic Tour, featuring Americana duo Watchhouse and bluegrass singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz. Punch Brothers' latest album, Hell on Church Street, released this past January on Nonesuch, is the band's reimagining of, and homage to, the late bluegrass great Tony Rice's landmark solo album Church Street Blues, featuring an inspired collection of songs by Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Bill Monroe, and others.
Fan pre-sale tickets for both shows are available now at nyphil.org using code 65THSTREET at checkout. General on-sale begins Tuesday, September 13, at 10am ET. Lineups and ticket info for the final two performances, February 14 and March 28, 2023, will be announced at a later date.
