New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, R&B trio The Womack Sisters release their debut EP Legacy via Ingrooves/ Great Pyramid Media. The six track project presents a well rounded soundtrack of love, relationships and heartbreak. The title is a nod to the sisters building their own legacy while honoring their strong musical roots as the granddaughters of the legendary Sam Cooke, daughters of renowned singer-songwriters and producers Cecil and
Linda Womack (of Womack & Womack) and nieces of singer-songwriter and R&B icon
Bobby Womack.
This week, The Womack Sisters have also released the new video for "Lost For Words," a story of betrayal in a way that most can relate to. "The worst feeling is when you realize that your relationship is not 50/50. We have all experienced it." says The Womack Sisters. They discuss this track and more in their recent episode of The
Estelle Show.
Primarily self-written by the sisters, Legacy is an introduction to the LA-based female sibling girl group consisting of BG, Zeimani, and Kucha. Listeners can find everything from their first single, the smooth r&b track 'Blocked", to smooth ballads such as the stunning cover of Sam Cooke's classic "A Change is Gonna Come" to the spicy track "
Daily", which recently went viral on Tik Tok.
The Womack Sisters offer a refreshing combination of impeccable vocal range, style and versatility, combining the rawness and soul of throwback r&b with the cool-factor and audaciousness of modern day pop. Their journey in music was not an easy one as they have faced many challenges over the recent years that may have caused anyone to quit. Having dealt with losing loved ones to gun violence, the pandemic halting their progress in music as well as their own personal struggles, they have finally completed their first EP project for the world to hear.
"Legacy represents a full circle moment for us. We've waited our whole lives to bring a project that listeners can relate to from love and happiness to heartbreak and sadness. It represents it all and this is just the beginning of our own legacy that we are carrying on from our family, " says The Womack Sisters. "We are so thankful and happy to let the world hear our music and are so grateful for everyone who has been involved up to this point in helping to get us where we are today; especially our team at Great Pyramid Media."
