Texas area of Beaumont and Port Arthur last week, they were left without electricity and so many downed trees that the streets were virtually impassable. Zona decided it was best to devote his efforts to the place that he calls home. He has spent the majority of his time clearing debris in the mornings and handing out ice in the afternoons. At night, due to the power outage and heightened security demands, he spends his time patrolling the streets.
'I performed with Tracy Byrd and Mark Chesnutt Labor Day weekend at Ford Park in Beaumont to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina victims, and then Rita hit our community within a matter of days,' says Zona. 'Now I'm living on my bus, and as a singer and the son of a Texas Ranger, I'm just doing the neighborly thing. It's time for the 'Haves' to help the 'Have Nots'.' 'I'll Give It To You' was written by Mark Nessler, a fellow Beaumont, TX resident, and Tony Martin. The single was produced by Byron Gallimore, Mike Jones, and Zona Jones.
