New York, NY (Top40 Charts) With over three decades of touring to credit, New Orleans Alt-Rock heavyweight
Better Than Ezra - named one of Billboard's "Greatest of All Time Alternative Artists" - returns to the road for the Better Than Ezra:
Legends of the fall Tour 2022.
Better Than Ezra's 2022 tour comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on Thursday, October 27 at 8 m. Tickets are $39-$69.
"This tour is all about getting back to the cities, clubs, and theaters we love the most. We can't wait to get up close and personal with the audience. Get ready for new songs, new moves, and also tapping back into the catalog to songs we haven't played in years," shares Better Than Ezra's
Kevin Griffin (lead vocals, guitar, piano). "So many of our songs pull from settings and images of autumn, and the fall has always been our favorite time of year to tour. Oh, and being massive Brad Pitt fans, 'Legends of the Fall' was a no-brainer name for this run - such a dreamboat!"
Better Than Ezra's Tom Drummond (bass, backing vocals) agrees, "We're stoked to be back headlining our own shows. It's been a minute since we've been able to really do our thing, and I'm especially excited to debut some new songs this fall."
Turning the music scene upside down since their first independent DELUXE release in 1993 and reigning two years later with "Good" at #1, Forbes has praised the legend-making longevity of the '90s rock stars saying, "So many of that decade's most influential, like supernovas, burned up fast -
Better Than Ezra defied those odds." Hummable melodies, unshakable guitar riffs, and confessional lyrics have boldly cemented the group as an enduring trailblazer in the genre. Boasting Top 15 career hits with "Desperately Wanting," "A Lifetime," "In the Blood," and "King of New Orleans,"
Better Than Ezra has garnered over 300 million streams to date.
The best songs, records, and bands transport you back to the first moment you heard them each and every time they play. Whether you caught a house party gig after
Better Than Ezra formed in 1988 at Louisiana
State University, heard "Good" on the radio once it hit #1 in 1995, became a fan following Taylor Swift's famous cover of "
Breathless" in 2010, or saw them headlining sheds in 2018, you most likely never forgot that initial introduction to the New Orleans quartet founded by
Kevin Griffin [lead vocals, guitar, piano] and Tom Drummond [bass, backing vocals]. Those hummable melodies, unshakable guitar riffs, and confessional lyrics quietly cemented the group as an enduring force in Rock music. How many acts can boast being the inspiration of a classic Saturday Night Live skit? Very few. Named one of the top "Greatest of All Time Alternative Artists" by Billboard,
Better Than Ezra released their last single "
Grateful" in 2018 and are currently in the studio working on new music.
