NEW YORK, NY - (Virgin Records) - Tickets for GORILLAZ: DEMON DAYS LIVE, the first event of the Manchester International Festival, sold out within hours of going on sale Monday morning. DEMON DAYS LIVE will feature the guest musicians from GORILLAZ' multi-million-selling sophomore smash "Demon Days" re-creating "Feel Good Inc.," "DARE" and the album's other classics live onstage November 1st through 5th at the Manchester Opera House, in a fitting tribute to the world's biggest two-dimensional band. Confirmed performers for these five remarkable and unrepeatable performances include De La Soul, Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder and UK hip-hop artist Roots Manuva, with further names to be announced. "Demon Days" producer/Gorillaz co-creator Damon Albarn will also be on hand to help bring the album to life. Additional guests will be announced as they confirm over the next few weeks. DEMON DAYS LIVE is the first in a series of events to heralding the inaugural Manchester International Festival in July 2007. This special one-time-only performance should not be confused with the unprecedented live holographic tour the Gorillaz team and animation house Passion Pictures are currently producing for 2007-2008. The live Gorillaz shows will be a unique cross between live performance and a theme park experience, with the band fully present onstage, rendered in 3 eye-popping dimensions. Crucially, the show will evolve over the life of the tour, like any other band performance. The stellar guests from "Demon Days" will be able to take their rightful place in the shows and elements of the multiple MTV Video Music Award-winning Gorillaz videos will be incorporated, bringing the unique visual identity created by Jamie Hewlett to a live audience.
