New York, NY (Top40 Charts) As shown by her recent single 'Call Me', Gabrielle Aplin's songwriting skills have been freshly revitalised ahead of the January 13th release of her fourth album 'Phosphorescent' pre-order here. After a billion streams to date, she is more confident, expressive and free than ever before, which she again proves as she shares her new single 'Never Be The Same'.

'Never Be The Same' is the perfect synthesis between the two extremes of Gabrielle's sound, mixing her acoustic, folky singer-songwriter roots with her modern pop-leaning edge. While it pulsates with a feelgood, uplifting ambience, lyrically it comes from a very different place - the realisation that suddenly everything has changed without you seeing it coming.

Gabrielle says, "Never Be The Same was the last song I wrote for Phosphorescent. It's about rediscovering who you are at your core when everything you thought made you the person you are is stripped away. I really felt that in March 2020 and so did many people. After a very strange, scary and uncertain couple of years I feel like a lot of us went back to basics and the things that really mattered to us changed completely."

Gabrielle wrote 'Never Be The Same' with Andrea Rocha (Becky Hill, Nina Nesbitt) and Anna Straker, the solo artist who Gabrielle collaborated with on 'Good Days Bad Days'. Like the rest of the 'Phosphorescent' album, 'Never Be The Same' was recorded with Mike Spencer (producer of her #2 debut album 'English Rain' as well as Years & Years, Cat Burns, Rudimental and Ellie Goulding) at his countryside studio The Lark's Tongue.

The process of recording 'Phosphorescent' saw Gabrielle reconnect with the calming, meditative environment of the natural world around the studio. It inspired her to focus on making her entire album campaign as sustainable as possible. The album's vinyl format, for example, was produced by using discarded excess wax from the factory. As the wax comes in a myriad range of colours and shades, every vinyl copy of the album is utterly unique. 'Phosphorescent' is available to pre-order / pre-save here, with Gabrielle's official store offering a selection of album bundles.

Highlights of Gabrielle's achievements to date include the UK #1 smash hit which launched her career, 'The Power of Love' as well as a further four international #1 singles, the Gold-certified debut album 'English Rain', 200 million+ streams of her previous record, 2020's 'Dear Happy'. And soon, 'Phosphorescent' will prove itself to be the strongest representation yet of who Gabrielle Aplin really is - as well as the artist that she is going to be in the years to come.
