NEW YORK (By Marlene Meraz/ Virgin Records) - October 4 is the date that most diehard R&B fans have circled on their calendars - the date that "SOME KINDA...," the new album from acclaimed Virgin Records artist Dwele arrived in stores. This exciting sophomore album from the singer-songwriter-musician and Detroit native follows his 2003 debut, "Subject," which was universally praised by critics and audiences in the U.S. and abroad.

"SOME KINDA..." includes a wide range of grooves, covering an impressive span of R&B's soulful influences. Lead single "I Think I Love U," an upbeat telling of a new relationship that's moving fast, is No 1 on R&B song at iTunes. Mid-tempo headnodders like "Holla," "Lay It Down" and "Know Your Name" will appeal immediately to fans of Dwele's innate ability to ride a tight rhythm. Ever the musician, the artist's jazz influences surface on more mellow tracks like "A Pimp's Dream," "Flapjacks" and the brilliant title cut. Guest artists Common and Slum Village add their hip-hop edge to "Keep On." Dwele refines his songwriting skill on "SOME KINDA...," which allows his sophisticated sound to move the music forward.

In addition to the artist himself, key producers on "SOME KINDA..." include Jay Dilla (who has worked with Common and Slum Village), Mike City (Usher, Carl Thomas) and G-1 (R. Kelly, Raphael Saadiq).

Prior to the album release, Dwele has been on the road, performing with his band and visiting radio stations across the country, and last week, performed a sold-out show at New York's SOBs. Among the sold-out crowd was Virgin Records Urban Music President Jermaine Dupri, Virgin Chairman and CEO Matt Serletic, William Morris agent Cara Lewis, Floetry's Marsha Ambrosius and radio wag Wendy Williams, in addition to several press, retail and BET VIPs.

Dwele has continued to tour internationally, playing recent sold-out shows in London and Paris. He was featured in Women's Wear Daily's early September special section on music & fashion. Look for him in the current issues of Complex, The Source, Vibe, Trace, Billboard and Unleashed magazines, among others.

The final track listing for "SOME KINDA..." is as follows:
1. Intro
