St. Paul & The Broken Bones Announces Headline January-February 2023 Tour On Heels Of Banner Year
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) St. Paul & The Broken Bones today announced a headline US tour, with dates through January and February 2023. Their first tour in the new year will bring the band's electrifying soul sound to nine esteemed theaters and performing arts centers across the midwest and southeast, with special guest Rett Madison. Tickets are on sale, Friday, November 4 at 10AM local time at stpaulandthebrokenbones.com, with fan and local pre-sales available November 3. A complete list of dates below and here: https://spbb.lnk.to/tour

Paul Janeway stated of the tour, "It is hard to imagine that we got together a decade ago to record an album in Sheffield, AL in a studio that used to be an old bank. A record that would change our lives. Half The City was an album recorded live with a sense of urgency like we were fleeing from a burning building while playing our instruments. This January - February tour we are going to celebrate that spirit. We are going to play songs from that album we rarely play nowadays and songs we still regularly play. We hope y'all will join us to celebrate."

The band has had a tremendous 2022 on the heels of their latest album The Alien Coast, playing top festivals and some of their biggest-ever shows to date, including a sold-out Beacon Theatre in New York City this spring.

The January tour follows an end-of-year tradition - the band will cap off 2022 with two New Years' performances at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia on December 30 and 31. In addition, St Paul & The Broken Bones will play Bluesfest 2023 in Australia in April alongside shows with Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. See below for the full itinerary.

The Birmingham, AL powerhouse octet, led by the impassioned vocals of frontman, Paul Janeway, released The Alien Coast (ATO Records) last January. The album earned them top TV performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and CBS Saturday Morning. Janeway explored the album's themes in interviews with the New Yorker, NPR All Things Considered and Elton John, while PopMatters deemed "its creativity and complexity sketch out innovative new paths for this band." The album was also named to The Guardian's list of 'The Best Albums of 2022 So Far.'

This summer, the band shared a fresh series of live videos recorded at Arc Studios in Nashville including a smoldering soul take on the David Bowie classic Moonage Daydream, which Rolling Stone premiered along with an interview with Janeway. A newly recorded live video of Love Letter From a Red Roof Inn was premiered by American Songwriter and a live version of The Last Dance premiered on The Bluegrass Situation.

St. Paul & the Broken Bones is: Paul Janeway (vocals), Jesse Phillips (bass), Browan Lollar (guitar), Kevin Leon (drums), Al Gamble (keyboards), Allen Branstetter (trumpet), Chad Fisher (trombone), and Amari Ansari (saxophone).

A tight ensemble with electrifying soul sound, Alabama's St. Paul & the Broken Bones deliver captivating live performances with impassioned vocals, which has garnered an avid following. Founded in Birmingham in 2011, St. Paul & the Broken Bones consists of Paul Janeway (vocals), Jesse Phillips (bass), Browan Lollar (guitar), Kevin Leon (drums), Al Gamble (keyboards), Allen Branstetter (trumpet), Chad Fisher (trombone), and Amari Ansari (saxophone).

The band made their recording debut in 2014 with Half the City, an album that introduced an ideal recording as a counterpart to their frenetic shows - including the platinum hit "Call Me." The group has continued to expand their sound with every record, branching out well beyond old-school soul into sleek summertime funk, with a few glimmers of straight-up disco on albums such as 2018's Young Sick Camellia. In 2022, their fine arts-inspired album The Alien Coast incorporated synths, psychedelia, samples, to create an "inventive, exciting, and compelling album that deserves and rewards multiple listens." - PopMatters.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones have shared stages with The Rolling Stones, Lizzo, The Black Pumas and played renowned festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo and more. With critical acclaim abounding, they caught the ear of Sir Elton John, and gave a riveting performance at his Oscar party. The band is a sonic powerhouse, delivering a genre-bending convergence of rock & roll, soul, R&B, psychedelia and funk.
