New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Friday, April 28th, rising country artist
Brandon Davis will release 'Jesus and
Jesse James' via Big Yellow Dog Music. He shares the title track today, drawing on the outlaw attitudes and classic country sounds of his biggest influences from Merle Haggard to
Waylon Jennings on a song that tells a story of walking the line between sinner and saint.
"I got me some Jesus and a little
Jesse James," says Davis. "I mean, how many of y'all can relate to that like I can? I think at the end of the day we all toe the line between right and wrong when it comes to the ones we love. And that's what this song is all about… walking that line and being ready to cross it for the ones we love."
Written with Clay Mills (Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood) and
Peter Daniel Newman (David Guetta, Tyler Booth), "Jesus and
Jesse James" feels fit for an old western film. With "echoing vicious strums, haunting steel, and the artist's blistering baritone" (American Songwriter), Davis channels the devil-may-care attitude of America's most notorious outlaw.

Davis hones his ability for vivid storytelling on the 'Jesus and
Jesse James' record, reviving the narratives and sonics that lie at the core of country music. Lyrically, he tackles themes such as good versus evil ("Jesus and
Jesse James"), unrequited love ("Fell For You") and taking chances ("Lightning In A
Mason Jar"), and the music highlights his raw, twangy baritone over echoing slide guitar, lush pedal steel and sweeping acoustic guitars.
The rising country "sensation" (PEOPLE) wrote or co-wrote all eight songs on the record, enlisting the help of songwriters like Clay Mills, Kelley Lovelace (Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley), Lynn Hutton (Eric Church, Cole Swindell) and others.
Davis amassed a massive grassroots following through impromptu singing challenges with his wife Destiny on social media (3M+ followers across platforms), and he has earned praise from American Songwriter, PEOPLE, MusicRow and more. He was hand-selected last year by
Tim McGraw to open for the McGraw 2022 tour. Davis performed at Nashville's Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival earlier this week, and he'll play multiple shows across the South, East and Midwest throughout the year. For more information on
