Pop Supergroup, SG5 Releases Hyper J-Pop Remix Of Debut Single "Firetruck" (umru Remix)
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Intergalactic Pop Supergroup, SG5, have teamed up with underground tastemaker and PC Music collaborator, umru, for the remix of their debut single "Firetruck." umru, who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX, 100 gecs, Dorian Electra, Rebecca Black, Tommy Cash and more; has transformed SG5's fiery single into a hyper J-pop nightclub banger.

"Firetruck" (umru REMIX) brings together two diverse artists while seamlessly fusing different genres and cultures. umru, a Brooklyn-based Estonian-American music producer, quickly emerged to the forefront of the pop zeitgeist following his first credit (at 18) on Charli XCX's landmark mixtape Pop 2. Merging intense, bass-heavy sounds with earworm vocals, his work has come to define and support the cutting edge of pop music. umru is signed to A. G. Cook's label PC Music who released his latest 7-track project 'comfort noise.'

Originally released on May 1st and produced by BloodPop [Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Madonna] and Hudson Mohawke [Drake, Pusha T], "Firetruck" marked the groups first release since Rolling Stone announced their U.S. debut in June of 2022. A song all about the individual flame that burns inside all of us, and a love so pure that it shines brighter than hate or bad vibes; "Firetruck" has been an introduction into the SG5 universe. By embracing the power within ourselves and hyping up our girls along the way, we become the hottest versions of ourselves. SG5 has wasted no time infiltrating the U.S. market by celebrating their debut single release in Los Angeles last month, with appearances from BloodPop, A.G. Cook, and more (seen here). "Firetruck" received much praise from places such as Ones To Watch, MTV, Entertainment Tonight, Audacy and more; with Nylon referring to it as "[...] a rowdy and bold introduction to the band's charismatic members and their immediate superstar appeal."

Signed with WME for Global Representation; SG5 is co-managed by one of Japan's largest entertainment companies LDH Japan Inc., and Global powerhouse Three Six Zero. The group has also enlisted Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer BloodPop® who will serve as Executive Producer and co-Creative Director of the band. SG5 consists of 5 members: SAYAKA, RURI, RUI, MIYUU, and KAEDE.

Spawning from the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon World, SG5 is an intergalactic pop supergroup that protects the universe from evil, injustice and negativity. Blending Japanese talent with Western edge and an I.P. that has inspired billions of smiles, their goal is to destroy the forces of darkness with the most powerful weapon of all: music. Grounded in lore that is 30 years in the making, SG5 is a modern interpolation of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon for the new generation of the in-the-know stans, with the blessing of Miss Takeuchi herself.

In their first international interview with Rolling Stone, MIYUU elaborated on SG5's debut and overall goals; "Being able to collaborate with Sailor Moon is such an honor and a dream come true. I have experienced a lot as an artist in Japan, but the environment surrounding SG5 is like no other, so I'm very motivated. I hope we can show the beauty of Japanese culture through our entertainment." Without any official music released yet, SG5's debut in 2022 intrigued and captured the attention of U.S. media such as Billboard, Hypebae, Just Jared, and more.

Hailing from all different walks of life, these 5 women exist in the Sailor Moon universe together and heavily reference the main protagonists of the series. Members SAYAKA, KAEDE, MIYUU, and RURI all come from the girl group Happiness, which debuted in 2011; and RUI comes from her own group iScream, which debuted in 2021. By joining forces and morphing together their individual talents, SG5 and their upcoming journey will be an unstoppable force.
